my mom talks about this a lot, and sometimes it's hard to know which situation was better. I mean, would I be less stressed and occasionally dissatisfied if I didn't question my responsibilities vs. what he "should" help out with so much? If I expected less, would it be easier? But it goes the other way, too, because having to look at the future and see only more of the same of what you have today can be very discouraging... having choices is definitely a blessing, but it makes things a lot harder, too!

As my grandmother would say - "We've come a long way, baby" I'm working on editing her memoirs and I can say that I better understand the struggles she had that made her who she is today... A great-grandmother in more ways than one!" Glad you got to connect with yours :)

lovely article Angie! Great line: There’s an art to living in the moment… it requires trusting my intuition.

We lose so much precious time to doing things we really don't care about. How they get to the top of our lists always amazes me.

Life goes by in a flash. I now try to fill it with things that make me sing (literally sing, since I'm a karaoke queen.) Glad you joined your family in the field of dreams!

Love this post too!!! Although I enjoy the fact that women are an equal now, I often wonder.... WHAT IF??? What if things were still as they were "back in the day"...would it really be such a "bad" thing... morals, values, self respect, family, faith and the list goes on and on...our grandparents certainly had a "respect" for life...worked hard and took nothing for granted. Never would they have hurt another intentionally, nor been a thief, lier and this list goes on and on as well...It just makes one wonder exactly what all these equalities have brought to our society... oh for the simpler days
