The best thing about writing– I don't have to shower, get dressed or wear makeup

Every once in a while, I like to break up the deep thoughts and poke a little fun at myself. Some of my good friends will tell you, it’s pretty easy to do. And I believe, when used in moderation, a little self deprecation can be good for the soul. Remember my top three embarrassing moments?

Recently, I gave the readers of Hybrid Mom a peek inside my closet. It’s a sad state of affairs, my friends. In the series, Help! Fashion Police! Who Stole My Clothes? I share:

So happy reading, and for the record, I actually did take a shower today.

    Hi Angie,

Cute piece about your closet/clothes. Like how you downsized. Yes, writing from home allows a certain degree of freedom from hygienic rigidity!

Stopped taking showers every day some time ago. Bad for hair – dries it out and may even make it fall out to shampoo every day. Bad for skin dries it out. Bad for water – uses it up!

Unless you work manual labor, don’t think any of us smell so bad we can’t do some spot cleaning! when I went to Italy, they all wore the same clothes over and over and no one smelled … Then again, we’ve been socialized to fear the body odors emanating from our mouths and underarms and encouraged to cover them up with products that presumably smell better, yet may contain all sorts of strange ingredients with unpronounceable names.

My cats do not mind real smells! Thanks …

    Giulietta
