We have a collection of books in our attic-- books I can't manage to part with but don't plan to read again, either. "Save them for the beach house," my husband says. Clarification: We do not own a beach house. But we have a set of good reads and board games ready to go. So when we arrived at the ocean front rental this past weekend, one of the first things I did (after leaving my brain and real-life responsibilities on the back deck) was check out the bookshelf.
So I gave it a close up.
Dude, I get it. I feel that way all the time.
I thought this was an interesting mix. Which got me thinking about my own bookshelf... the one in my home office. The books I choose to display because they had a particular impact on me.
Books about life, love, happiness. Books about writing and motherhood. Books about faith and connection.
I read a lot of nonfiction. Memoirs are my favorite.
I bought this one when I was pregnant with my first son, and I thought the cover looked like candy. The contents were equally appealing.
Books about home get their own special row, near the top.
