Earlier this week, I sat by the window inside the cafe at Barnes and Noble and reviewed the copy one final time. Then, with shaking hands, I hit "publish" and put the news out into the world.
I may have been shaking because I was sucking ice water through a straw, and it was cold in there. But part of it was sheer excitement. You may recall last November when I shared that I was directing and producing Charleston's LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER show. Now, all the details are set.
The show will be held Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Footlight Players Theatre. Early bird tickets are on sale now, and I'm scheduling auditions!
LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER: CHARLESTON will feature live readings from a local cast from all walks and seasons of life. These brave voices will take their original, true accounts about motherhood to the stage: stories about being a mom, not being a mom, having a mom, not having a mom. This show will make you laugh, cry, clap and nod in recognition.
The casting call is open to women and men. The show's mission: celebrate our stories, expand perspectives and bring the community together. Yes.
If you don't live in Charleston, check to see if LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER is coming to a city near you.
